Abstract
Archaeological researches have inferred Cordoba Hills Late Societies (1200-300 BP) food production from ethno-historical documentation (16th-17th centuries) and archaeological remains of lithic hoes. This paper presents direct evidence of pre-Hispanic agricultural activities based on silicon-phytoliths analysis from sedimentary materials recovered in an archaeological site of Cordoba Hills area. The goal in this paper is to unravel the mountain productive system and risk-reduction strategies.
